Our sterile vials for injection provide a safe long-term storage solution for pharmaceutical companies. Since glass is the only material in constant contact with the drug, our injection vials limit the number of potential interaction partners, and are designed to maximise ease of use and handling.SCHOTT Poonawalla vials offer a highly efficient fill-and-finish operation, effective Container Closure Integrity (CCI), and optimized drug-container interaction. This is achieved through high chemical resistance, dimensional precision, and high-quality inspection.
Long-term stability for liquid and lyophilized drugs
SCHOTT Poonawalla pharmaceutical vials are made from Type I borosilicate glass (according to ISO 8362-2 standards), which offers high chemical resistance for long-term drug stability. The vials can be used for a wide range of applications, including:
- Storing liquid drugs from vaccines to complex proteins
- Storing lyophilized drugs such as biologics
Our glass vials are produced with tight cosmetic and dimensional control (according to cGMP), and are fully compliant with all required quality standards including IP, Ph. EUR, USP and CP.

Thanks to high quality raw materials and our converting expertise, SCHOTT Poonawalla's CosmetiQ and Standard vials boast a high chemical resistance. Other advantages include:

Material, formats, packaging, and quality
- SCHOTT Poonawalla vials are available in two quality levels: Standard and CosmetiQ.
- Container material options include SCHOTT FIOLAX® clear and FIOLAX® amber glass tubing.
- Chromatography Vials (HPLC & GC Vials) available in screw, crimp and snap neck formats and customized printing; container material options include both clear and amber glass tubing (sizes 2ml, 10ml and 20ml).
- Formats range from 2R-100R and 2ml-150ml.
- Packaging options include corrugated and PP boxes for non-sterile non-siliconized bulk vials and PP boxes and tray for non-sterile siliconized bulk vials.
Standard: Maximum quality, minimum defects. In accordance with the current Defect Evaluation List, SCHOTT Poonawalla Standard pharmaceutical glass vials offer minimum cosmetic Acceptable Quality Levels (AQLs). This is the most relevant industry standard for determining the maximum proportion of defective examples that are considered acceptable in any given sample.
CosmetiQ: Our CosmetiQ vials provide even tighter cosmetic AQLs than Standard vials, making them ideal for further customization.
SCHOTT Poonawalla CosmetiQ ready-to-use vials
Fill-and-finish operations can face several challenges when using small batches of personalized medications and high-value pharmaceuticals. Higher quality containers with greater flexibility are required – particularly when switching between different medications, while avoiding costly waste.SCHOTT Poonawalla’s CosmetiQ vials are available in a pre-washed and pre-sterilized ready-to-use (RTU) configuration, and can be processed on a variety of new and existing fill-and-finish lines, with the glass vials nested throughout the process (including freeze-drying).
